Microsoft confirms end of the road for Frontfront Threat Management Gateway

In a post on the Server & Cloud Blog, Microsoft today announced what many have been expecting - I wrote about this in this post in June 2011 after reading some bizarre comments in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Secure Web Gateway. Along with a number of other products published under the Forefront brand, Microsoft is discontinuing Forefront Threat Management Gateway.

At the same time, the support lifecycle for these discontinued products has been published:

At the same time this seams like an appropriate moment to re-iterate that nothing changes for two other favorites available under the Forefront brand: Forefront Identity Manager (FIM) and Forefront Universal Access Gateway (UAG). Both these products where recently upgraded and continue to do well.
